Technology Requirements

Computer Skills Required

computerThe following computer skills are necessary for participation in the online degree completion programs:

  • Ability to use a mouse (click, double-click, block, drag and drop)
  • Ability to open, save, and rename files
  • Ability to use a web browser, send and open email, send email with attachments
  • Ability to navigate the Internet
  • Ability to open sophisticated web pages that utilize Java/Java Script programming or browser plug-ins
  • Ability to download and install plug-ins and required software

If you do not have these computer skills, you may need to take a computer course prior to applying for an online degree completion program. A tutorial is available.

Internet Connection

We strongly recommend a high-speed internet connection such as a DSL or Broadband connection. Dial up internet connections are not deemed fast enough to allow successful completion of online program coursework.
