Each semester professors and staff who work closely with graduate students are asked to nominate graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, personal and professional growth, and academic achievement within their field of study.

  • Inaugural cohort of the MA/OL Program in Fall 2009; completion by Summer 2011
  • Penn State, BS (1981), Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology
  • Married 23 years to Sally; two children – Lee (21), and Laurie (19), who has Down Syndrome
  • Home – Morris (Tioga County), PA since high school; however, visited the area throughout childhood before moving to the area with family
  • Career Experience:
    • Consultant to PA Department of Public Welfare Early Intervention Birth to Five Programs
    • Supports Coordinator for home and community based Medicaid waiver programs to support people with disabilities
  • Past Career Experience:
    • Human services supervisor and case manager for local county agency
    • Family dairy farm operator
  • Interests:
    • Spending time with my family
    • Working in the yard at our home
    • Taking short family trips
