Graduate Admissions

Position Description:

The graduate assistant will become knowledgeable of and participate in the recruitment of both graduate and undergraduate students. Experiences will include: meeting with prospective students, marketing, website review, development of an on-line newletter,and conduting research including statistical analysis, etc.

Basic Requirements:

The successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication techniques, as well as high quality organizational skills. Computer skills would be beneficial. In addition, s/he must be able to work with diverse publics in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Specific Assignment/Responsibilities:

  1. Represent the university at on an off-campus recruitment events
  2. Respond to graduate student inquiries via phone and email
  3. Meet personally with prospective students
  4. Analyze data relating to project development assessment
  5. Provide a graduate student voice and perspective in regards to recruitment and retention materials, events, and organizations (i.e. inquiry packets orientation materials, and teh Graduate Student Assembly)
  6. Develop the ability to reconstruct and revise the Graduate Admissions website as needed
  7. Assist with the admissions process by reviewing incomplete and complete files
  8. Graduate Student Newsletter
  9. Outstanding Graduate Student recognition program
  10. Survey development and implementation
