Education - Endless Mountain Writing Project

Job Description:  Assist with Writing Project initiatives, including compiling and analyzing related data and correspondence with guidance from faculty mentor.

Position description (i.e. general duties): Assume an attitude of initiative and responsibility within the Writing Project’s professional development strands and community outreach initiatives and a willingness to further develop one’s knowledge and skills directly related to these areas.
 
Basic requirements (i.e. typing, filing, lifting, driving, teaching, speaking, computer, etc): A full time graduate student, preferably one enrolled in the advanced reading specialist certificate/master’s program (an initial teaching certification is required for enrollment in this program) with good oral and written communication skills and literacy-related research interests is needed, as the basic duties require collaborative writing and editing, communications technology skills or a willingness to develop such skills, communication with schools, teachers, school students and their families, and organizational skills. Some driving is required, and this is determined by the nature of the programs undertaken in the schools each year. The ability to manage multiple tasks is necessary, as is dependability.
 
Specific assignments/responsibilities: Communication with schools, community members, and Writing Project educators and candidates. Assist in coordinating the annual writing contest. Compile and organize data for assessment and reporting purposes.
