AHD - Academic Testing

Job Description

Position Description: The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for helping students in gathering appropriate documentation for evaluation by the Director of Services for Students with Disabilities for use in determining appropriate academic accommodations. The GA will develop a “Peer Support” group opportunity for our LD students. The graduate assistant will be responsible for updating materials advertising the services provided by the Disabilities Services area. The GA will work with the Director of the Learning Center to provide “out of class” testing accommodations and insure its security and availability. The GA will be required to provide periodic updates on testing accommodations and project status.
 

Basic Requirements:

  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office, SAS/SPSS
  • Understand and practice the concept of confidentially
  • Possess the ability to help people feel comfortable
  • Open to new approaches to solve problems
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic understanding of Learning Disability and Academic Accommodations requirements
  • Well developed writing and presentation skills
  • Flexible schedule
  • Willingness to develop a basic understanding of adaptive technologies

Specific Assignments/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Academic Accommodations Testing program,
  • Develop a Peer Support Network for LD students
  • Assist students in identifying appropriate documentation for academic accommodation review
  • Assist in data gathering on LD student population
  • Update Disabilities Services printed materials
  • Other duties as assigned
